Tim Hawkinson works predominately in sculpture, focusing on the process of his art much more than the outcome. His pieces are inspired by the idea of recreating images of his own body through photographs and 3D bodies of work. He often uses unconventional tools (ex. a colored pencil attached to a screwdriver) and focuses most of his time on complicated installations and inventive ways to display his vision.
I'm inspired both by the ways in which Hawkinson approaches his process, as well as his ability to subtly morph images of our own bodies into somewhat disturbing (but beautiful) final installations.
