Steven Spazuk uses a flame to apply soot to apply soot to a surface. He has been working with soot for 14 years. he does a lot of pieces indepicting humans or the human body. I think what's cool about his work is both the smokey quality of the final product, but also that negative space is more prominant than positive imprint and his work capitalizes on this.
