Edgar Mueller Art Share Week 6

Audrey Heller

Audrey Heller, a friend of me and my family, takes photos of small figurines interacting with everyday objects.

What I like so much about her artwork is the creativity and cleverness put into every piece. Her only job is her artwork, it took a while to be ready to make a living solely of her passion, but now she does. 

I know this is similar to an artshare done last week. I thought it would be interesting to post an artist using the same technique to compare the difference of work.

Reverse Graffiti

English street artist Paul Curtis (who goes by the name Moose) creates stunning images and murals by removing dirt and grime from walls.

I think reverse graffiti is an amazing way to create art because not only is it connected to eco-friendliness by being nondestructive and leaving no trace, it also inspires people to be cleaner themselves.

Little People

I found a couple artists that worked with tiny figurines.

An artist named Slinkachu displays his art in the streets. He started in 2006 making this kind of art by incorporating his ideas to the surroundings where he was installing his work. He says that he makes these scenes to "reflect on the loneliness and melancholy of living in a big city".

This artist named Dan Abramson made the classic green soldier toys into Yoga Joes. He said the inspiration for this work is that he has seen other versions of the soldiers like Toy Boarders and plastic break dancing people.

Kristine Moran is a painter, born 1974 in Canada. She currently resides in Brooklyn.

I really like how she uses these big, slow deliberate brush strokes to create sort of chaotic pieces. Her work shows a really interesting dichotomy order vs disorder. I also love the colors she uses. Her palette has such a wide range in each painting.
